I declare this the week of the carbohydrate.
Spaghetti, muffins, ramen, ravioli, hash browns, dumplings, pierogi, or just buttered egg noodles. I will take it any way you can give it to me. For a long time carbs got a really bad rap, and that's not fair! Just like anything else, if eaten in moderation they're not going to make you fat or spike your blood sugar. On days when we eat pasta for dinner I'll serve yogurt for breakfast and a salad for lunch.
There really wasn't too much on sale at my usual stores (Smart & Final, Sprouts, Maruki, or 99 Cents Only) except for strawberries and miso soup fixins. And let me tell you something: trying to eek a few deals out of 4 different stores is exhausting and frustrating. Luckily, all of these stores are within a half mile of home, but still. In Pittsburgh I shopped at either Aldi or the Strip district and loved it. I like having everything right there in one store since I'm shopping with two toddlers. According to the Aldi website they'll be opening more stores in LA soon. I cannot wait.
